Our prices
The days of arrival and departure are flexible (it is not necessary to arrive and depart on a Saturday) but we ask you to choose your dates so as not to cause holes of 1 or 2 nights we could not rent otherwise.

Our prices vary depending on the season and the length of stay. For prices, simply make a booking and online simulation, the system will display the best available rate automatically.

Understanding the displayed prices
The price range indicated for rooms on the homepage is the nightly rate for a stay of '7 or more nights' in low season (the lowest rate) to the nightly rate for a stay of only 1 night in high season (the highest rate). In low season (outside school holidays) you get a discount of 5€ per night on the ‘high season’ prices displayed. Our online booking system automatically selects the best price for you following your demand for the dates and length of stay. Please feel free to make multiple simulations and compare them.

Arrival and deparure hours :
Arrival hours are from 1700 hours earliest to 1900 hours at the latest, unless otherwise accorded before hand.
Depature time is at 1030 hours at the latest, the day of check out.
If the arrival time is later than 1900 hours without any pre-advise from the guest's side, the owner has the right to rent out the room to another guest without further pre-advice and with the right to engage claims against the guest arriving late or not showing up at all.

Adults: guests from 12 years.
Warning : rates for our double rooms are based on TWO people, the Suite Hautes Alpes has a rate based on THREE persons.
Our business is the rental of guest rooms which is different from hotels and cottages for weekly rentals. In high season, our rooms are primarily rented by the week. Our best rates are obtained for stays of 7 nights or more. Shorter stays are possible, however if available or at the last minute, at any time, if the requested dates fall immediately before or after an existing booking (see schedule online)

You can pay us with credit cards (VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS) or cash.

What is it, a Guest House?
These few details may seem obvious to you. Yet we have found that they are not for everyone ... So much the better if they help to enlighten you on the issue.

A Guest House should not be confused with the rental of a cottage. Unlike a Gite a Guest House is always located in the owner's house. A cottage is not for rent for one night, but for a longer stay. Traditionally, the rental is for a week, but with us, we welcome you from 1 night: Our rates are decreasing the longer you stay with us and depending on High or Low season.
A cottage, unlike a guest room includes a kitchen or kitchenette to prepare meals and be completely autonomous. In a Guest Room, on the contrary, the rooms are not equipped with a kitchen and it is forbidden to eat and drink in the rooms for obvious reasons of hygiene. You can dine in the evening at our Guest table; we will prepare a delicious dinner with local and organic products as much as possible from our gardens. Every evening except on Tuesdays and Sundays.
In a Guest House we rent the room with the bed linen and towels. There is no daily cleaning, unless the occupant asks for it during a long stay.

About our Guest Table Dinners

Meals at the guest table of the Coustille are composed of an entrée, a main-dish and its vegetables, salad, dessert or cheese and 1/4 of wine, cofee or tea. Prices for our meals: 34€ per adult. No meals are served on wednesdays and sundays. We will advise you on one of the excellent restaurants in our valley.
We serve our evening meals when a minimum of 4 guests have reserved dinner the day before at the latest.

Printed documentation
We have at your disposal lots of tourist information of the area to guide you towards activities that accord with your wishes. We can give you practical advise according to the weather according to the time of year, we borrow maps (hiking, cycling) and inquire about the festivities and excursions in our beautiful valley. On our internet site you will already find key information to explore before your stay with us.

Is it necessary to have a car?
That will depend on what you want to do during your stay with us: If you want to relax at the pool, in our SPA area; enjoy a massage or Shiatsu session, play games, enjoy the peace and serenity, there is no need for a car. Even for most sporty persons, you can stay at Saint Léger les Mélèzes for a week before exhausting all you can do on foot, hiking in the mountains from our cottage; discovering the environment to nearby villages. In high season there is a grocery store in the village and there are also restaurants on site.

If you want to discover all the treasures of the valley and the mountains, a car will be quite useful. If you do not have a car, why not consider a rental? You will find them on the internet at very competitive rental rates. Under these conditions, it can be a shame to deprive of the freedom provided by the vehicle, besides the price of the train and taxis put together ...
If you arrive for example at GAP station by the night train from « PARIS AUSTERLITZ » station, you will find on the website of the SNCF that they have agreements with a local company (AVIS) and you can book your car rental online. Low rates and possibility of providing the vehicle at a distance of a few minutes walk from the station GAP.

What about our parking lot?
It's easy. We have free parking on our property and we offer free parking your motorbikes and bicycles in our garage overnight.

About Children
La Coustille does not receive young children under 8 years old, allowing our adult guests looking for peace and quiet to fully enjoy a deserved vacantion in our beautiful Southern Alps.

SPA : Our Wellness area is a place of rest and not to be confused with a pool. It’s for this reason and for their safety that we do not accept children in the SPA.

You want to come with your dog ... and a cat?
We regret we can not accommodate dogs or cats in any of our rooms.

Following the fact that we have a cat and a dog, we ask persons allergic to cats to be aware of the risks.

Cancellation Insurance, manual
We have no special agreement with any insurance company, however, every year we are faced with situations where short sighted travelers are forced to cancel their trip but had not taken the precaution (despite our insistent recommendations) to take out cancellation insurance. For trying to save a few euros, they lose their deposit. No one is unfortunately immune to the vagaries of life. We strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance (see our terms and conditions).

Here is some information collected on the website of the insurer Mondial Assistance ...

Who is safe from a medical or professional problem, even a few days from the start? Who can be certain of not losing luggage or not having to accident?

Because an emergency occurs when you least expect it, assistance and insurance contracts exist for you to deal with these situations. Some situations do not happen only to others ...
- Missing a plane
- Getting sick
- Losing luggage
- Theft or loss of passport prior to flying
- Loss of one's job
- Illness, accident, death of a family member.
- Worsening of a condition

Insurance companies often offer several levels of insurance, you choose the one that covers you best.
Not to purchase travel insurance is a false economy!

The amount paid for the deposit is not refundable. We can not take into account all the risks of the life of our visitors. If you were forced to cancel your stay with us for a reason covered by your insurance then the money you paid will be reimbursed by your insurance.

What to do when traveling in a group?
We have several couples of friends traveling together, what to do?
Important: All trip participants should be registered on the same insurance policy.
If for some reason, covered by the insurance, the participants cancel their trips, others have the right to cancel if and only if the remaining number of participants is less than or equal to 2 participants.
Check your insurance to know how it manages group travel.

Be aware that the cost of insurance is based on the total amount of travel price (and not the number of participants).

We advise you to make sure your trip includes the transportation part.

Where can I obtain cancellation insurance?

All insurance must be purchased directly from the insurer of your choice.
